UTG and Smash Volleyball have partnered up to offer a coding/volleyball camp!
Campers will spend  <b>half their day</b> creating the code and artwork for their own video game and <b>the other half</b> outside learning and playing volleyball.

The grass volleyball portion of the camp will be run by Smash Volleyball and will focus on teaching athletes the basic skills of volleyball including bumping, setting, serving, and spiking. Sessions will also include many skill-focused small-sided games. Beginner, intermediate and advanced participants will be placed on courts according to their friend requests and skill level to keep everyone challenged. Coaches encourage good teamwork and team culture and use positive coaching. Smash Volleyball has weekly programs and camps throughout Vancouver and they help over 800 kids per year grow through the sport of volleyball.

During coding, students will use PixelPad to create the code and artwork for their very own video game. Students will learn the fundamentals of the coding language Python. Over the week they will cover loops, variables, if-statements, orienting objects in 2-D space, and much more. By the end of the week they will have their own video game.
